Learn how to make an Oilcloth bag

These gorgeous, durable, fully lined bags can be made in a variety of shapes and sizes. Once you have mastered how to sew this wonderful fabric you will be inundated with requests from friends & family.

You will learn:

  • To measure, create and cut a pattern with a base
  • Cut a variety of fabrics
  • How to prepare oilcloth for sewing
  • Use correct stitching & setting for different fabrics
  • Use a walking foot

Additional costs: For a bag measuring approx. 15" x 11" you will need 1/2 metre of oilcloth (oilcloth is thicker than PVC and is normally more expensive, please avoid PVC) and 1/2 metre of medium/heavy weight cotton fabric for the lining. If you would like to make a larger bag please email me for fabric quantities.

Suitable for: Someone who can use a sewing machine or has attended the beginners sewing.
